Solar is a renewable energy resource that uses photovoltaic (PV) systems to create electricity. A solar PV system uses light to generate electricity, which you can then use to power your home or office, reducing your bills and your impact on the environment.
There are three different types of household solar systems for generating electricity, they are: grid-connect systems, off-grid systems and a hybrid systems. These three types of systems also apply to commercial installations, however, in some cases, a concentrating solar power system (CSP) can be used. Typically constructed on a larger scale, CSP systems use reflective surfaces to concentrate sunlight in order to harness the thermal energy for the creation of electricity.
A solar power purchase agreement (PPA) is a financial agreement where a developer arranges for the design, permitting, financing and installation of a solar energy system on a customer’s property at little to no cost. The developer sells the power generated to the host customer at a fixed rate that is typically lower than the local utility’s retail rate. This lower electricity price serves to offset the customer’s purchase of electricity from the grid while the developer receives the income from these sales of electricity as well as any tax credits and other incentives generated from the system. PPAs typically range from 10 to 25 years and the developer remains responsible for the operation and maintenance of the system for the duration of the agreement. At the end of the PPA contract term, a customer may be able to extend the PPA, have the developer remove the system or choose to buy the solar energy system from the developer.
Benefits of PPAs to solar customers:
ENGINEERING
We are a true provider of turnkey solar project solutions from design to delivery.
PROCUREMENT
As part of our robust offering, we have an experienced team of purchasing professionals who work closely with our project managers and field staff to secure the best pricing and availability on equipment and supplies from reliable vendor partners. We are committed to ensuring we work with diverse suppliers that provide concrete value to our projects.
CONSTRUCTION
Utilizing skilled union electricians and proven project management staff, we consistently deliver high-quality construction projects across the India for high-profile clients in a variety of industries.
I&C
We have a qualified team for installation and commissioning, engineers with a wealth of experience in on site requirements.
Commissioning is a way to formalize quality control of installed PV systems. The process ensures that systems are safe and high performing. It encourages integrators to be responsible for their installations and facilitates project closeout and prompt payment. Successful commissioning leads to satisfied installers, employers and system owners. Satisfied customers become repeat customers and lead to new clients.
Solar project maintenance can help maximize uptime and extend the life of the plant. The delivery of solar power without any disruption maintains the stream of economic value generated by each kilowatt hour of production, and proper service is a critical component to ensuring optimal performance while minimizing the risks of downtime. A well-maintained solar installation can actually perform 10 to 30% better than one that is not. But installing solar arrays are just the beginning. Without proper operation and maintenance, system components could be void of all warranties.
